Android users around the world can now play The Simpsons Tapped Out, according to an announcement made by EA about an hour ago, by downloading the game from http://bit.ly/YynjyU.

Unfortunately, there’s no change yet on visiting friends – the Google Play page still says, “Android does not currently enable players to visit their friends’ Springfields.” There’s no indication of when this will be possible, either.

This also means that Android players won’t be able to join in the Valentine’s event – although with only a week to go, there’s really not much time for that, anyway.

The worldwide release seems nicely timed for something new to come in March, in time for the game’s first anniversary. I wonder what’s ahead once the Valentine’s event ends on February 28?
